Kyle & van der Steen can represent parties dealing with issues related to Separation and divorce namely custody, access child support, spousal support and obtaining a divorce order.  Given the nature of family law which can be either amicable to highly contentious providing block fees of giving estimates as to amount the process will cost is very difficult is like asking “How long is a piece of string”.

We are dedicated professionals who charge for our time by the hour and hold ourselves accountable to the amount of time we need and use on case.

Separation agreements and cohabitation agreements can range from $1,000 to $3,000 plus HST and disbursements.

Independent legal advice starts at $300 plus HST.  After reviewing the agreement should you wish us to contact the other lawyer to make changes the fee will be on an hourly basis as the cost will depend on the extent and complexity of the changes required.

We do offer a fixed fee of $1,500 + HST for Simple Uncontested Divorces:                

• Prepare serve and file Application. 
• Prepare and file motion for Divorce Order. 
• Prepare divorce Orders for judge’s signature. 
• Obtain Certificate of Divorce. 

All disbursements are included in our fixed fee.
